Human napkins

Hello all. It has been a good week--I got a lot done, had a ton of fun and learned a thing or two--wahoo!

First of all, I had some work stuff come up that took me to the cities of Kennwick and Spokane, WA. Drew's parents offered to come up and spend some time with the kids and so I was able to go. Thank you Raymond and Shanna.

It was really great for be to reminded how much I LOVE my job . . . I LOVE being a mom. It's fantastic. I love my kids. I am really happy with my role in our family. Oddly enough, the book I took with me to read was "I Am a Mother" by Jane Clayson Johnson. The book is basically about what a blessed calling being a mother is and how we should not feel bad for being a mother or dimiss ourselves by saying "I'm just a mom." I say it was odd, because as I was reading it I was away from home. I was working in a different job and although I have a passion for nutrition education and I enjoy the work I get to do from time to time, I needed NO convincing that spending my time home with my kids is a worthwhile endeavor.

Now, to the napkin thing . . . I came home to find my kids playing in the backyard with their grandparents. They all looked so cute. I grabbed some popsicles and we enjoyed the warm summer day together. Pretty soon Sydney was wiping her sticky hands all over Grandma Shanna's legs! I was so embarassed. I thought, "I promise we have taught her better than this" and then I thought, "Have I? She always seems to be wiping sticky, wet, or dirty hands or noses on me!" So, needless to say, I am adding human napkin to my job description as a mother.

Don't worry, I got Shanna a wipe!

also reading that book...I like it! yes, human napkin is always a fun one..between spit-up, yogurt and peanut butter, you can usually find one of the above on most of my clothes!

You are so funny! You are a little nicer then I am about it--I don't know how many times I've blurted out "Joshua, I'm not your snotrag!" And I love the book, too.

I very thankful for napkins but there are times when I do not have one and so I wipe them on my clothes.
