"May my child be a builder"

My aunt is an artist and I remember a cute picture she painted of a child building a snowman. The caption, "May my child be a builder" has always stuck with me.

These pictures from DC show Simon building with some fantastic blocks. You also see in the next photo that he is pretty proud he is of his tower.

As I think about my kids and the things I am trying to teach them, I hope with all that is in me that they will be builders. There is enough negativity and tearing down in the world.

I have many people I love who constantly build, stabilize and strengthen me. How grateful I am for their help!

My mom's efforts in building me were largely manifested through notes. I have several on which I can look back and see the strength she offered me at various times in my life.

I am excited to have the opportunity to encourage my own children and help them to also become builders!

I love your thoughts. This is a great one. I wonder how we teach kids to be "constructive". You're right, they can be productive people but in "destructive" ways.
