Do I dare admit I used to watch a show called

Supermarket Sweep!?

Okay, I am totally blushing. Yes, I used to be a fan. I think I became addicted at 13 or 14 when I nannied for my aunt one summer. It was that or "Barney and Friends."

Supermarket Sweep was a game show having to do with the grocery store. There were trivia questions about various items sold at the store and then there was a "BIG SWEEP" where the teams ran around a fake grocery store filling up their carts with the most expensive items possible. The team with the highest total won and then had the opportunity to win money. However, in this "BIG SWEEP" round, there were BONUSES allowing teams to instantly add $$ to their total. These bonuses were often an unusually large version of an item.

Well today I received such an item and that is why this post. Quaker Oats sent me an enormous pretend container of oatmeal. It was stocked with all sorts of free oatmeal (YEAH) and then some literature on the health benefits of oats in a heart-healthy diet for dietitians to use with thier clients.

I felt like I was on the show. All sorts of fond memories flooded my mind and I thought, "I must post this and see who else would dare admit they watched this show !" I have a feeling it will only be my sister, Ashley, but if anyone else has please feel free to surprise me.

If not, "next time you're at a checkout counter and you hear the beep-think of all the fun you could have on Supermarket Sweep!"

Yeah I caught it a few times as a young'in. I think the funniest part was watching the end's huge rush through the aisles and the people frantically filling their carts with toilet paper and diapers. It actually reminds me of my own shopping trips with my three ticking time bombs (AKA my kids).

Uh, Wikipedia helped me out you guys--I couldn't do all of those details on my own.

I totally watched it! Though I should be more embarrassed to admit that I currently love all the kid Disney shows...such as The Suite Life, Hannah Montana, Life w/ Derek, Raven, Cory in the House...oh, and the premier of High School Musical 2 was written in big letters on our calendar:)

I confess I never saw it once. Not because I was too good for it, but because there were geekier things on my telly. That's so funny that you loved that though.
