I cannot dress my child. She must do it herself and it must be an outfit she has picked out. Then, after she gets dressed she often wants to play dress ups! Oh the JOYS! I stopped folding the clothes in her drawers several months ago and just recently cleared everything out and only put coordinating outfits in the drawers so she can't go wrong with what she picks out. Today a friend told me about little tags that used to be on clothing that matched so that kids would know that you had to have two of the same for the outfit to work--nice idea. Anyone know what those are called?
Well, back to the dress ups. Nearly every day Sydney dresses up and dances around our living room. Both she and Simon love it when I join in (not in the dressing up, but the dancing around). I dare say I have burned a few good calories and have choreographed a pretty good little dance to "Chim Chim Cher-ee". Really, oh the JOYS!
This picture is of Syd and her good little friend Ella. Ella has an adorable little room where Sydney's imagination (and clearly her acting) really comes ALIVE! It's these funny little things that kids do that really bring JOY to every day isn't it?

I know exactly what you mean about little girls wanting to dress themselves. Olivia never cared, but Ella is a real Diva when it comes to clothes! She is impossible! She won't wear a top and bottom together unless she has worn it together before.
Sydney looks adorable...can't wait to see her.
Oh, and I don't remember you telling me you went to VA Beach, but you may have. I drove through Dupont Circle today on my way downtown just to see what it was like over there since you guys liked it so much over there. It was a lot nicer than where we are :)

Syd and Ellie would be great friends! Not a day goes by without the dress up clothes coming out. She would live 24/7 in princess clothes, if I let her. Does Syd love dresses and skirts? Ellie went through a phase where she would only wear skirts. Drove me crazy!

A friend once reminded me that the love of dressing up never ends (e.g. Prom, wedding, etc.) :) They are so cute together! Hey by the way we have Alias Seasons 1-3 and 5 (we don't know why we don't have 4) on DVD if you wanted to borrow. Let's just say a certain someone has a won't-admit-to-crush on a certain someone on the show. :)
