Tonight I was getting things ready for my "Sunday Job" as chorister and I thought, "I wonder what the new song will be this next year for the Primary?" Traditionally there is one song incorporated into the outline for Sharing Time and the Sacrament Meeting Presentation that does not appear in the Children's Songbook or the Hymn Book. This next year it is "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" by Sally Deford. It is beautiful and something I personally needed to hear. Here's a recording. I can't wait to teach it to Sydney and Simon and hopefully the Primary children in my ward (that is if my calling stays the same for the next several months)!
Anyways, tonight I am feeling blessed that music touches me and reminds me who I am, why I am here and how I can be better.

Speaking of music. The Insitute choir is having their Christmas concert on Dec.1st at the stake Center. There is one at 4:00pm and 7:00pm. So if want to invite some people to come that would be great. I hope you are doing well.
I remember that song..it is a good one. Lewis listens to those primary CD's almost every day..music really teaches so much. I love it!! So it looks like you got the camera if Drew is currently obsessed with taking pics...do you love it??
andrea...few can understand how powerful the effect of music is in our lives like those who are primary choristers. not that others can't understand, but being a primary chorister changes the perspective...don't you think? while it is crazy and stressful, it is one of my favorite callings of all time. i'm sure the kids can't wait for primary each week to sing the songs! i miss that. good luck and thanks for the post. greg
I love this song! Our ward's primary program is next week and I'm so excited for it. Alan and I sneak into primary with the boys pretty often and love to listen to the kids singing. The boys love it too!
Thanks for sharing that! I haven't looked ahead yet--still dealing with the present outline. Those kids are so lucky to have you.
A woman in our stake sang this with her son tonight at our auxiliary training. It is so beautiful!
