Happy Birthday to my little buddies!

The kids' birthdays are two years and three days apart. This last weekend we had a party. An island party to be exact. It was great. The party was mostly for Sydney--she picked the theme and the guests, but Simon was most definitely there to have some fun (until nap time).

There were 10 kids total--I thought it was going to be out of control, but it ended up going great!! This was largely because Andrew was the best assi
stant EVER--thanks babe!

It was a fun two-hours and Sydney later said, "Mom--I just KNEW you could throw me a wonderful party!"

Here's what we did: made paper and pasta leis-played a beach ball game-danced the hooky lau-did the limbo-made fruit kabobs-ate pizza-drank slushy lemonades garnished with umbrellas-chased and popped friends' balloons-played hot coconut (the HIT of the party)-ate cake and ice cream-opened gifts

On Simon's actual birthday he was sicker then a DOG! Poor kid--I think we'll celebrate for him next week--that's not illegal is it? You can tell in this picture it was going to happen huh? He has what my mom would have called "sick eyes".

I'm so sorry to hear Simon is still sick! I'm glad I read this tonight though. Elijah threw up this evening and I'm hoping it's the quick thing that I have heard it might be (from the Mom of the kid he got it from) but now I'm wondering if it not and lasts longer? I should email you. I hope he can stay hydrated. Wow birthdays three days apart! That's me and Nathan actually :)

Sounds like you had a great party! We are totally avoiding the friends party this year for Tanner. I really don't want 15 3 and 4 year olds running around my house like crazy. Maybe next year. :)

That looks like so much fun! You remind me of the mom of one of my friends when I was little. She always had the BEST parties- not over-the-top, you could just tell that her mom loved throwing parties. Anyway, maybe Sydney's friends will all remember your parties when they grow up- you never know!

Yay! How funny that Syd chose an island theme. And you did such a great job with it. I love the ideas.

How fun! I think party throwing has got to be the best part of the mommy job. Sorry Simon is sick, that has got to be the worst part of the mommy job.
