Christmas in July!

So at the pool today (supposedly my therapy) S#1 came up to me and said, "Mom--pretend that I am Santa and S#2 is Mrs. Claus." I clarified that she couldn't be Santa and her brother couldn't be Mrs. Claus, but that didn't stop her. Next--"Mom, what would you like for Christmas?" My QUICK and very well thought out response: "Obedient kids!" She left for a moment and then came back--"Mom there are not any obedient kids in my presents." I laughed and said back--"S, there aren't any in my presence either!!"

Ha ha! I had a Heather moment* and totally laughed at myself.

On another note, thanks to all of the listening ears who helped me believe that today could be better than yesterday--just so you know it has been.

*A Heather moment is defined as a time when you say something you find so funny that you just can't gain control of yourself. My mom does this ALL of the time. Ash and I love her for it and find it quite amusing that we are experiencing them as well!

I have witnessed many a "heather moment" in my time and it made this post even funnier...I can just see you totally laughing at yourself.

That's so cute. The story would've even been cute without your witty retort!

That's SO the kind of thing you'd read in a Reader's Digest while in a doctor's waiting room or something. So cute! Good job. My brain is totally shot and could never think of that :)

your blog is too cute for words. =) sorry it's taken me so long to get a "thank you" to you, but thanks very much for the books for our little girl. she absolutely loves books! (sometimes) =) right now she's really into cinderella and dancing to "moo-kick" (music), and won't read with me much, but she has gotten a lot of use from those books already. thanks, again! laura and robeck clan
