A spider and a mermaid

These two LOVED Halloween and although it's almost been two weeks I thought it would be good to post a few pictures of these two candy collectors!

Sydney wanted to be a mermaid and we looked high and low for a costume--finally found this one and she has worn it everyday since we purchased it. All of the sequins on the backside of the outfit are falling off. We love Mermaid Syd!

Now Simon was compelled to be the spider that Sydney was two years ago. Initially he was spooked by the extra legs, but pretty soon he seemed to like it (maybe it was the sack full of candy he was gathering). I think he thinks that anytime we ring someone's doorbell that we should be saying "trick-or-treat" and be offered a piece of candy. That'll be a disappointment . . .

On another note, today was the primary program in our ward where I am the primary chorister. We have a fairly small primary and most of the kids are under the age of 6. Thus many of the words in the songs are poorly understood and therefore not sung. Sydney has been learning all of the songs here at home with me and knew all of them. I thought we'd pull her out of nursery for the program to help with the volume. She did great at the practice, but was SPOOKED by the full chapel. Oh well, maybe next year. The rest of the kids did just great--I was SOOO proud of them!

Simon on the other hand is not afraid of speaking in a microphone to hundreds of people. After our meetings we had a Linger Longer and a child picked up the microphone and shared some very interesting words. I remember thinking, "oops, someone lost track of a little one." Humm, guess who those irresponsible parents were? Uh yeah . . . Simon was just delighted with his debut!

Things are great for us--hope that is the case for you too!

Andrea: I was just called as our Primary chorister and initially I was thinking YIKEs, but after my first 2 weeks I totally dig it! Just can't wait till January when Will is finally in nursery!

These are some of the cutest pictures! I love how Sydney's smile is just huge in every picture. I am so glad the program went well and I am SO glad it is done. I wonder who it was that told Janet it was the best they'd heard??

So glad your program went well. Now you can do fun seasonal songs - I always love the relief of having it over with;).

Cute, cute, costumes! Well done, too, on doing mermaid without going the Little Mermaid route. :) Our Charlotte was fascinated by the whole strangers-giving-me-candy thing, too. We just went to Bell-Square, but now I'm a little afraid to go back!

Congrats on the primary program, too. What a relief to have that over, hey?

What cuties...I love how little girls look when they KNOW that they are the most beautiful girl in the world:). We had a really entertaining primary program here as well...that has to be the best Sunday of the year! I hope the parents in your ward let you know how much they appreciate you!

how fun you have the world's (or ward's) best calling! Love the costumes. Halloween always makes me think of "Boo Hope I scared you" and screaming at the scary movie at your fams cabin...
