Just a few weeks prior to leaving I had met a guy who was really great. We weren't quite an item yet and so I wasn't really sure what was expected of me for Valentine's. I concluded that a heart-shaped frosted cookie with a tiny note was going to be my offering--a decision I soon regretted.
That day after classes I found a PERFECT long-stemmed red rose on my bed along with a card. The card was cute--but the words written took my breath away.
I'd have gotten you a dozen, but there's only room for one spoiled person in this relationship.
Andrew
What girl doesn't want to feel like she is IT!!?? He made me feel like I was so great that just being with him spoiled him to pieces.
Okay, back to the story. When I met up with Andrew later that night I was so embarrassed to give him the cookie (I think I hid it under the seat in the car and made him search for it). And despite the adorable card and flower I still went to Utah (I had committed to drive everyone . . ). I ended up longing to be with him all weekend and was so excited to connect with him that following Sunday night! Pretty soon after that we officially became an "item."
His gift giving skills have only intensified in their perfection! He keeps a list of anything I have ever mentioned and seems to surprise me with them at just the right times. Now, lest you think that it's all about the gifts he gives, please know that no one on this earth spurs me on to be a better person.
I love you Andrew--and I'd like to argue that I am the spoiled person in this relationship!!
p.s. Syd and Si--no two "little" people on the earth make me smile more than you!! I LOVE you two!
*A few weeks ago Sydney came up with a game that involved stacking a bunch of heads on top of one another--that was the impetus for this picture.
