A Dignified Position . . .

On Sunday we shared a birthday dinner with my niece. Per her request we were all given a FORTUNE COOKIE to open after we ate. We enjoyed listening to everyone's as we sat digesting. I finally cracked mine open to reveal:
You will find yourself in a
dignified position
in the end.
I burst out laughing. SERIOUSLY?! At this point in time my belly is sticking out so far I don't think any position I am in right now seems remotely dignified. Additionally, HOW ON EARTH could my position "in the end" be DIGNIFIED?!

Although I treasure motherhood and find pregnancy and childbirth remarkable, I am now to the point where I remember what is coming around the corner and I am wanting to backpedal.

Someone please help me . . .

Oh and Happy Christmas!

I love that! Childbirth is so humbling and miraculous, not exactly ripe with dignity though. :) I just remind myself that I can do anything for one day (most labors are under 24 hours). And I like to think I am really good at having babies, which helps me gain confidence. Say, "I am SO good at this!" and believe it! Also, you look lovely.

You are way cute prego and not prego for that matter. Also I feel what is about to hit you. In fact right now I am beyond tired, but sleep is not looking good. I am nursing a baby that is wide awake!!! New babies are so exciting though, can't wait to hear

HA! A good story to tell your doctor/midwife when you are in labor. "Keep me dignified!" Andrea, I don't see how you could ever not be dignified no matter what! Dignity is not what you do, but who you are! And you are wonderful! You'll ease into being the mother of three in no time at all, and in fact I found it to be the easiest of all of my transitions!!!

I so know that feeling and you described it beautifully! When I was little we used to always eat at a particular chinese restaurant with my Aunt and Uncle. When he opened his fortune cookie he always pretended that it said, "Help! I'm a prisoner in a Chinese fortune cookie factory!" That still makes me laugh!

First of all, you look adorable Andrea! Absolutely glowing :) I know you don't feel it but you definitely look great! The only way I get through the last part of pregnancy and through delivery is just to tell myself its going to go by SO FAST! And it will! I mean look back and think of when you were here in Seattle! Its been a long time since you left but it feels like 2 months! Before you know it, it will be over and done with and you'll get to do the fun part! And if anything at all, at least you look hot being undignified :)
